As your car, truck, all-terrain vehicle, or trailer drives through a field containing flowering weeds, or backs into a lake containing New Zealand mud snails, chances are that these species will attach to some part of the vehicle and hitchhike their way to a new location. Invasive species may be transported on tires, wheel wells, undercarriage, or otherwise on vehicles, farm equipment, and mobile machinery. Species that may be introduced by this pathway include common crupinaDalmatian toadflaxknapweedsleafy spurge, tansy ragwort, and yellow starthistle.

To help prevent the spread of invasive species, inspect and thoroughly clean your vehicle after driving through a potentially infested area.
