Prevention and readiness for invasive mussels (such as zebra and quagga mussels) has never been more important. Justin Bush (Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife) will begin this webinar with a background of invasive mussel biology, impacts, and distribution in the United States. Current readiness, prevention, and outreach efforts will be discussed, with a special focus on eastern Washington. Attendess will learn the key role they must play if mussels are to be kept out of the state.
Stacy Horton (Northwest Power and Conservation Council) will conclude the webinar with a segment on the amendment of the council’s Fish and Wildlife Program, the current invasive species language, how participants can submit an amendment.
