The spotted lanternfly is causing damage on the East Coast, where it has infested fourteen states. It is an excellent hitchhiker and can spread through human activities and movement. Washington is aware that prevention is the lowest cost solution. The Washington Invasive Species Council received funding to develop a Spotted Lanternfly Washington State Action Plan for the anticipated arrive of the spotted lanternfly. We have an 80 percent draft complete and are holding a webinar to introduce the draft. This will include an opportunity to provide feedback that will be taken into consideration as the final plan is prepared. Regional partners also will participate to highlight their prevention efforts surrounding this insect and its hosts.

The webinar will be held from 1-4 p.m. PDT, and registration is required. View the agenda.
